Hot Stone Therapy Massage

Hot Stone Relaxing Spa Therapy for tired muscles.

Hot Stone Therapy Massage is a form of thermotherapy (thermo=heat) that uses heated basalt rocks and cooled marble stones. Basalt is an igneous rock of polycrystalline structure. Heat emanates from the basalt in many directions slowly.

Basalt originates from cooled volcanic magma and its composition contains olivine (an iron or magnesium silicate)

The marble is a metamorphic rock of limestone in origin, its composition is more than 90% calcium carbonate. Marble is a mono-crystalline structure and emanates energy in one direction quickly and deeply. Marble is used in cold therapy and emanates a cool energy.

Promotes Deep Relaxation

Hot Stone Therapy Massage improves lymphatic and immune systems, normalizes body functions, facillitates homeostasis and assists self-healing. The heated basalt stones give heat or electromagnetic energy to the client thus promoting deep relaxation, balance and a sense of peace. The cool marble stones dissipate physical, emotional and psychological stress, bringing clarity and serenity.

Ancient Therapy

This ancient therapy was revived in 1994 in Tuscon, Arizona. Heated stone therapy has been used by the Kahunas of Hawaii, Shan Dynasty (2000-1500 BC) of China, Russians, Japanese, Mayan Indians and the Native Americans.

Soothing and Calming

In this therapy the basalt stones are heated to 125-140 degrees F. (50-60degrees C). Warmed stones are placed over chakras, in palms, between toes, and along both sides of the spine. The body is oiled and the heated stones slide over the large muscles of the legs, sides, arms, back and shoulders. It is very soothing and calming.

This therapy is great for sprains, strains, acute bursitis, acute inflammation, tendinitis, chronic tension, tennis elbow, headadche, migraine, and cerebral congestion, constipation, atrophied muscles, fibromyalgia, and menstrual problems.

It is not recommended in pregnancy or with acute asthma or acute infections.
